Bricks LA is an annual LEGO fan event that focuses on bringing together brick builders and fans from Southern California and beyond! Bricks LA typically has two events running at the same time – the public exhibition and a private brick builder convention.
The private brick builder convention is designed for AFOLs (Adult Fans Of LEGO) over 18 years old, many of which build the incredible models which are on display in the public exhibition. VIB (Very Important Builder) registration is required to attend the private brick builder convention.
Guests attending the public exhibition must have a ticket for admission. Although our 2022 event is not open to the public in-person, we look forward to welcoming guests back as soon as possible at our next event!
By registering for or attending Bricks LA as an attendee of any type – including but not limited to VIBs, guests, staff, vendors, public, and anyone else involved in the event – you agree to abide by the policies and terms set forth on this site. Failure to abide by these policies, posted rules at the event, or requests from Bricks LA or Pasadena Convention Center staff may result in being asked to leave the event without a refund.
Registration is not complete until payment has been received by Bricks LA.
Attendees will indemnify and hold harmless Bricks LA and the Pasadena Convention Center from any liability, damage, expense, cause of action, suits, claims, judgments, and costs of defense arising from injury to persons or personal property which arise out of any act, failure to act, negligence of the attendee. All personal property of the attendees, staff, or guests shall be at the sole risk of said parties; Bricks LA and the Pasadena Convention Center shall not be liable to any such person or party for any damage or loss to personal property thereof.
Health & Safety
Due to changing health and safety guidelines, Bricks LA 2022 will be a VIB (AFOL) only event with limited capacity. In-person attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination and comply with all COVID-19 safety requirements from the state of California, the city of Pasadena, the event venue, and Bricks LA. Failure to comply will result in immediate removal from the convention without a refund.
This page will be updated with information on our health and safety requirements and protocols for this event.
– Masks are required. Pasadena requires masks for all individuals regardless of vaccination status, in all indoor public settings, venues, gatherings and businesses (except when actively eating or drinking). All face coverings must fit properly and snugly, must secure under your chin, and fully cover your nose and mouth. Not permitted are: bandanas, scarves, neck gaiters, mesh face coverings, face coverings that have exhalation valves, or damaged/torn face coverings.
– Vaccinations are required. VIBs attending Bricks LA in-person will be required to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus. Proof of vaccination will be required at (or prior to) the event. Currently accepted vaccines (as approved by the World Health Organization) include Pfizer/BionTech, Moderna, Johnson and Johnson, AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine, Sinopharm, and Sinovac. We will have more information on the verification process as we get closer to the event.
– Hand washing and social distancing are encouraged. We encourage frequent hand washing and use of hand sanitizer for all attendees. Social distancing is encouraged in spaces that accommodate it. Please be respectful of attendees’ personal space. Hugs and handshakes are optional while kind words and encouragement are always welcome!
Code of Conduct
VIBs and public attendees must respect common sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property. Harassment or offensive behavior will not be tolerated. Bricks LA reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the VIB pass or public ticket of any attendee not in compliance with this policy. Persons finding themselves in a situation where they feel their safety is at risk or who become aware of an attendee not in compliance with this policy should immediately locate the nearest staff or security member so that the matter can be handled in an expeditious manner.
We invite you to help us make Bricks LA an inclusive and welcoming event that respects all participants regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, national origin, ethnicity, or religion. This allows everyone the opportunity to focus on the event and the great community of brick fans.
Bricks LA expects all participants to follow this Code of Conduct during the event. This includes convention related social events at off-site locations and in related online communities and social media. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. Participants violating this Code of Conduct may be expelled from the event without a refund.
Thank you for helping make Bricks LA a welcoming, respectful, and friendly event for all participants.
To put it simply, be excellent to each other.
MOC Displays
Registered VIBs are encouraged to display LEGO MOCs (My Own Creation) during the convention. In order to guarantee display space, MOCs must be registered by the date noted in the VIB registration confirmation email (and on the MOC registration page). Bricks LA reserves the right to refuse or remove MOCs as they deem necessary. This includes, but is not limited to: realistic weapons, MOCs made primarily with non-LEGO pieces, and offensive subject matter (determined by Bricks LA staff). Other items that are not allowed in the convention center include: live (or deceased) animals, food, helium, and fire/open flames. Please do not include these items in your LEGO creations.
TFOL Registration
While we appreciate builders of all ages, Bricks LA is intended for adults 18 years and older, as some events present an adult atmosphere. We may allow participation from younger builders familiar to us (over the age of 13), reviewed on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Bricks LA Team prior to their registration and the event. If you are under 18 years old, you must have been approved by the Bricks LA team prior to registering and have your registered parent/guardian with you at check-in to be granted access to the event. Please contact us for further details.
Children and Family of VIBs
The private VIB portion of Bricks LA is an event designed for adult fans of LEGO over 18 years old. Exceptions may be made for TFOLs (13 to 17) who meet certain requirements (see TFOL Registration above).
Due to limited capacity as well as changing health and safety guidelines, Bricks LA 2022 will strictly limit attendance to only registered VIBs/AFOLs. Unregistered family members, children, friends, etc. will not be admitted. We look forward to welcoming back fans of all ages at our next public event!
Photography and Use of Bricks LA Guest Likeness
Attendees acknowledge and understand that Bricks LA will be photographed and recorded. Attendance at Bricks LA constitutes attendees agreement to permit Bricks LA to use the photographs and recordings (included any edited, revised, or modified versions thereof) for purposes of advertising, distribution, broadcast, and other dissemination and in trade in any and all media anywhere in the world at any time without limitation and without your inspection and/or approval. This agreement extends to minors and other persons in the care and charge of the Bricks LA attendee.
